Payoff Ladder
Payoff Ladder is a debt payoff planner that models your loans, compares avalanche and snowball strategies and tracks every payment on your device. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Payoff Ladder does not collect, transmit, or share any personal or financial information.
Information we collect
None is collected by us. You enter your own loan details — a name, the type of debt, the balance, the interest rate, the minimum payment, the term and the due day — and every one of those figures is written straight to a database on your phone. They are never sent anywhere, never seen by us and never shared with a lender, a bureau or any other company. The app has no account, no sign-in and no link to any bank.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, Payoff Ladder stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- Your loans: name, debt type, original and current balance, interest rate, minimum payment, term, due day, any committed extra payment, and archived status.
- Your payment ledger: date, amount, the principal and interest split, whether it was an extra payment, and any note you attached.
- Milestone badges you have reached and the date each was reached.
- Preferences: currency, default payoff strategy, portfolio-wide extra budget, round-up, hide-cents and reduced-motion settings.
- A first-launch flag so the three-slide primer is shown only once.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to Payoff Ladder or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
No runtime permissions are requested. Payoff Ladder never asks for the camera, the microphone, location, contacts, photos, storage or notifications, and the system will never show you a permission dialog for it. The Android manifest carries the install-time INTERNET permission that ships with the default Flutter project template, but the app contains no networking code and issues no requests — see the Network section below.
Network use
The app is fully offline. It connects to no bank, no aggregator, no credit bureau and no server of ours; there is no sync, no backup and no account recovery, because there is no account. Every projection, amortization schedule and chart is computed on your device from the numbers you typed in, and the whole app works in airplane mode. If you use the Share button to send a progress summary, you choose where it goes and the receiving app's policy governs it from there.
Third-party services
None. No analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, attribution or billing SDKs are present. Payoff Ladder is built on the open-source Flutter framework plus local-only packages: an on-device SQLite database, a preferences store, state management, a charting library that renders your own figures, and formatting helpers. Nothing in that list transmits data.
Children's privacy
The app is a personal finance tool intended for adults, but it is safe for any age: it collects no personal information, shows no advertising, sells nothing and has no social features, so it meets COPPA and the GDPR requirements on children's data by design.
Your rights
Everything you enter stays in the app's private storage on your device, under your control. You can edit or delete any loan or logged payment inside the app, clear all of it from the Android app settings, or remove it entirely by uninstalling. Because no financial data is ever transmitted, there is no server-side record to access, port, correct or erase, and no third party holds a copy. Nothing in this app is financial advice; the projections are arithmetic on the figures you supply.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
