InkLeaf Notes Privacy Policy · Updated 2026-08-10

A short note on your data.

InkLeaf Notes does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information — your notes never leave your device.

InkLeaf Notes is a markdown notebook that keeps everything you write in a database on your own device. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.

I · Collection

Information we collect

None. There is no account, no sign-in, no sync service and no telemetry. The app never asks who you are, and it has no server to tell. The notes you write are yours alone: the app cannot read them anywhere except on the screen in front of you.

II · Storage

What lives on your device

For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:

None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.

III · Permissions

What the app asks for

No runtime permissions are requested. InkLeaf Notes never asks for the camera, the microphone, location, contacts, photos, storage or notifications, and the system will never show you a permission dialog for it. The Android manifest carries the install-time INTERNET permission that ships with the default Flutter project template, but the app contains no networking code and issues no requests — see the Network section below.

IV · Network

What goes over the wire

The app is fully offline. It has no networking code, no sync, no cloud backup and no downloadable fonts — the typefaces are bundled precisely so that nothing is fetched at runtime. Every feature works in airplane mode. Copying a note to the clipboard or sending it through the Android share sheet is always an action you take deliberately; from that point the receiving app's own policy applies.

V · Third parties

Who else is involved

None are integrated. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, no attribution library and no in-app billing. InkLeaf Notes uses the open-source Flutter framework and a small set of local-only packages: a device SQLite database, a preferences store for the first-launch flag, state management, a charting library that draws your own numbers, and formatting helpers. None of them contact a server.

VI · Children

Younger readers

InkLeaf Notes is safe for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, shows no advertising, offers no purchases and has no social, sharing-network or messaging features, so it complies with COPPA and the GDPR rules on children's data by construction.

VII · Your rights

What you can do

Your notes and every setting listed above live in a database inside the app's private storage. You can delete an individual note from the compost heap, clear everything at once from the Android app settings, or remove all of it by uninstalling the app. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no remote copy to request, correct or erase, and no account to delete. Export is always available to you directly: copy any note out as plain markdown whenever you like.

VIII · Revisions

Changes to this policy

If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
